Buna-N gaskets for Corny kegs:[1]

Buna-N (nitrile) is the recommended gasket material because it allows less oxygen transmission than silicone (and therefore the beer will stay fresh longer).[citation needed] Several brewers suggest that the x-profile gaskets form a better seal than round gaskets,[2] although some leaks may still be stubborn depending on the condition of the keg. The x-profile gaskets may also have increased resistance to oxygen transmission compared to round gaskets assuming they form a greater radius when the gasket is compressed, however this is unproven.
